Daniel Hernández Medina is an associate at León Cosgrove Jiménez LLP. A dual-qualified attorney trained in both civil and common law systems, Daniel focuses his practice on high-stakes, cross-border disputes in U.S. state and federal courts, as well as in international arbitration.
Daniel represents clients in complex, high-value disputes, bringing a strategic, solutions-oriented approach shaped by his experience across multiple legal systems. His practice includes disputes involving infrastructure and energy concession contracts across Latin America, as well as financial services, partnership and shareholder conflicts, fraud and deceptive trade practices, and other business torts. He is particularly adept at navigating the legal, business, and cultural differences that often define cross-border matters.
Prior to joining León Cosgrove Jiménez LLP, Daniel worked at leading U.S. law firms where he handled sophisticated commercial and investment arbitration matters involving large-scale infrastructure and energy projects. He also practiced in Colombia, representing major financial institutions and construction companies in high-stakes disputes arising from infrastructure and energy concession contracts, as well as other complex commercial matters.
Daniel earned his Juris Doctor and LL.M. in International Arbitration, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. Recognized for both academic excellence and advocacy skills, he received the Order of the Barristers, multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, Director’s Awards, and Dean’s Certificates. He also served as a teaching assistant for the Legal Communication and Research II course.
He is admitted to practice in Florida and Colombia. Daniel is an active member of the Colombian American Bar Association and the Hispanic National Bar Association. He is also committed to serving his community through pro bono representation of clients in diverse matters.
